CALL TRACE
Call Trace
allows you to automatically
request a trace of an obscene, threatening or harassing call. After receiving
such a call, you simply dial a special code to have the calling party's phone
number printed at Ronan Telephone Company's central office.
Advantages:
- Helps you put and end to harassing
and offending calls.
- Enhances your security and
privacy.
To use CALL TRACE:
- Hang up after receiving the
annoying call.
- Lift the receiver and listen
for the tone.
- Press *57, then listen for
the tone or announcement.
After requesting a Call
Trace, you must notify the police department
if you want the call investigated further. After notifying the police, please
call out business office and tell us your phone number, the time of the call,
and any other important information.
Important Details:
- It is important that you activate Call
Trace
immediately after the offending call. If you delay
taking action and receive a subsequent incoming call, Call
Trace will
not trace the correct number.
- If a Call Waiting tone is received during a call
that is to be trace, tracing will occur on the Call Waiting call rather
than the original call.
- Charges for Call
Trace are
on a per call or monthly basis.
- Per call: $5 with a $25 limit within one billing
period, or
- Per month in a packaged rate.
