DND-Telemarketing
DND Telemarketing Service (Do Not Disturb Telemarketing) allow subscribers greater control of their privacy by providing an optional method for screening telemarketers. It is designed to inform the caller that the subscriber to this service does not accept calls from telemarketer via an announcement. Telemarketers who complete a call after the announcement may be in violation of FCC rule 47 C.F.R. Section 64-1200, and subject to state and/or federal penalties rules. Subscribers to this service will be advised by the Company of the procedure to file a complaint regarding such violations.
DND-Telemarketing Service is available only to those subscribers with a one party line who are served from a central office equipped to provide such service.
A recording is provided with this service which states the caller has reached a number that does not accept cll from telemarketers. All non-telemarketing callers are instructed to press "1" to complete the call at which time the call will go through. All calls will be provisioned with the recording unless the line is served with Caller ID.
Subscribers may choose to use this service with Caller ID which is an Advanced Calling Service. In this instance, all calls oriningation from an "unknown" or "private" number will be routed to the recording. All calls from which an originating number is identified will be completed without the recording. The recording will also activate for calls when the calling party has activated Caller ID Blocking.
